Empire Avenue 101 – Newbie Guide to the game
Brand new to Empire Avenue? Don’t worry! Follow our getting started guide to get you setup!
I just sign up .. and have no idea what is going on…
First of all, Congratulations! You have taken a step towards immediately increasing your social media presence on the internet. It can be a little over whelming at first but don’t worry. You will be buying, selling and having lots of fun all while improving your social media scores online in no time.
What is Empire Avenue and What is it “for”?
Empire Avenue is a game that allows you to buy and sell (like a virtual stock market) shares (pieces) of people who are also in social media. http://www.empireavenue.com/ But depending on how and the way that you use the game you can see a DRAMATIC increase in your social media activity, networking and maybe even make some solid business partner and friendships along the way.

Time to Set Some Goals
Your very first step before you start on EA is very important, but one most people miss. Figure out your *Exact* goals of using Empire Avenue.
Goal you say… is this a game? Yes. It’s a game .. but when used correctly there is much more to it. Some examples of goals.
- Network with other people in my Industry
- Connect with technical, web and seo people to help me with my website
- Get number 1 spot in my city/country/world
- Get a better/new job
- Get advice from the best of each Industry- From Wine makers to CEO to musicians(all of whom have profiles on EA)
- Get in touch with Venture Capital or Angel Investors
- Increase awareness and sales of my songs/art/website/invention/business
- Expand my network of influence to people in other industries
- Doing lots of math to figure out ROI on good investments and ignoring everything else in the game
- Endlessly spam profiles and people to get them to maybe buy you (Not Recommend)
- Have fun, hang out, socialize and play a game randomly to become a Eavs Millionaire and Beyond!
Keep this goal in mind as we go through the next few steps.
1) Setting Up Your Profile – Connect Your Accounts
Make sure you connect your networks to your account. These social media networks will make up your ‘score’ on SE. You can add your accounts under the Home Button at the top and then select “Your Connections” in the Orange Bar. Follow the simple process to add your accounts.
Only your top 5 scores will count. That includes the BLOG score that is currently not displayed with a Button. More about scores here. So pick at LEAST 5 accounts and then step 2.
** TIP ** – Don’t have 5 accounts? Now is the time to make them. If you are using social media these sites are some of the best you can use. You will be making lots of connections on EA so why not get started? Take a few moments and create accounts at all the websites(or at least 5 of them). Your score of 1 will help you better than your score of “doesn’t exist”.
2) Complete your Profile – Photo and Bio
Make sure you change your photo from the default. Nothing says “I’m not coming back don’t buy me” like the stock ‘charlie brownish’ photo. Upload your lovely face, your company logo, or your dog… but change it from the default.
Take a few moments and write a little bio. Perhaps a 140 character sentence of what you do followed by your goal we already figured out above.
3) Join Some Communities – City, Interest, Personal
Now that your profile is coming together. Some people have probably already bought you… but we are not done yet! Select COMMUNITIES from the bar at the top. You can select 2 of each type to start. City .. Interest/Brand .. Personal/Private .. These can change but select some .. Join them with the button at the top right and then introduce yourself in a relevant manner to the group.
4) Add some Interests
Back on your profile, on the bottom left side are various interests usually pulled in from your facebook likes and account. Take a few moments and once again tailor these back to your goal for the site. Choose many broad range keywords and add LOTS of them. The more interests you have in common with another player, the more likely you will appear on their ‘HOME PAGE” as a “Recommended buy”. There may… be an achievement in here too if you add enough of them *hint*.
5) Finishing Touches – 100% Complete Your Profile
One final stop to your profile. Click on Settings in the VERRRRRY top bar beside your Name and Money… And then select the “edit Profile” option. Complete your birthday, name, etc.
***Tip*** You also may wish to update your email settings under the NOTIFICATIONS link at the very top too. Otherwise you can expect a lot of emails.
